Regionally acclaimed architectural and planning preservation firm, Winter-Troutwine Associates, Inc., created in 1989, is a full service Preservation Architecture and Planning firm working collectively with professional designers, planners, historians, engineers, and other technical consultants as each project requires. WTA, Inc. has completed over 75 historic projects, varying from small residential additions to retail and office facilities, and numerous adaptive reuse projects. The firm has consulted with many unique one-of-a-kind projects, with a collective experience of over 60 years in architecture, historic preservation, and community planning. Awards
• 1987-Second Place, Technical Merit Award from Michigan Society of Architects for 322 Lafayette Center Building, Greenville, Michigan.
• 1995-Received the Grand Valley AIA 1995 Distinguished Building Design Award for a private Residence in Fennville, Michigan.
• 1995-Recipient of the Western Michigan Associated Builders and Contractors for the Ornamental Metal Design.
• 1998- First Place for Best Program of the year from the City of Grand Rapids Neighborhood Business Alliance as co-creator of the West Grand Rapids Planning Committee. (a coalition of business and residential organization)
• 2003 Recipient of several awards from the Grand Rapids Historic Preservation Commission: Outstanding Volunteer and Outstanding Historic Preservation Project Award as consultant for the designation of Historic Fairmount Square neighborhood; and design architect for the Helmus Building in Grand Rapids.
